Every lender is slightly different, but most will ask for similar documents. Use this checklist to get organised before your application — the more prepared you are, the smoother the process.

- Driver's licence
- Passport or Birth Certificate
- Medicare card
Income & Employment
Proof of stable income for serviceability

2 most recent payslips (showing employer name, ABN, year-to-date figures)
- Latest tax return or Notice of Assessment
- Employment contract or letter from employer
Self-Employed
Additional documents if you run your own business
- Last 2 years' personal and business tax returns
- Last 2 years' Notices of Assessment (ATO)
- ABN registration confirmation
- Business financial statements (profit & loss, balance sheet)
- Accountant's letter confirming income (if required)
Assets & Liabilities
Your financial position snapshot

Bank statements (all accounts, last 3 months) (savings, everyday, term deposits)
- Details of existing loans, credit cards, or debts

Superannuation statements (if the loan term extends into retirement age)
- Share portfolio or investment statements (if applicable)
Property Information
If you're purchasing or refinancing

Contract of Sale (if you've already found a property)
- Details of deposit or savings for the property

Building or pest inspection reports (if already conducted)

Current loan statement (if refinancing an existing property)
Other Relevant Documents

- Centrelink income statements (if applicable)
